Dillinger Four - Civil War (cd)
The uncrowned kings of punkpop deliver again! No, I'm not talking about The Offspring or Green Day but the Dillinger Four. It took them six long years, but finally a new record is out for everyone into sincere, catchy music to enjoy. This release has been controversial since an editor of a college radio station lost his job over it. (The damn fool shouldn't have mailed around his password to fatwrecks'stream)
But it's not just that hype that makes 'Civil War' an important record. No it's songs like 'Gainesville', 'The Art of Whore' and 'Parishiltonisametaphor' that make this album a must-listen-if-you-appreciate-good-music-that-isn't-made-by-boys-in-skinnyjeans-and-makeup.
It may not appeal to as many people as The Gaslight Anthems' 59 Sound (which even my mom loves) but that doesn't mean 'Civil War' is less good. It's just more punk, more underground and finally more songs by the great Minneapolis Four.

Man, I love me some D4. I had no idea they had a new album out!
I don't know if it's officially out yet but it will be in a couple of days on Fatwreck.
