Is pretty nice. It all happens in the review published on Roar E-zine. This is it:
Heartfelt is a band that never really got picked up by the Dutch audience. For those who remember my review on their previous release The Plague Of Today already should know that I think this is pretty undeserved. With their first full length Take It Or Leave It they once again prove this point.
Although I was already really enthusiastic about Heartfelt’s previous MCD, Take It Or Leave even managed to let this feeling grow stronger. Although this whole full-length lays in the extent of The Plague Of Today, everything sounds a bit more old-school and oiled. Where everyone was always taking Eric Ozenne as a comparison for Arold’s voice, on Take It Or Leave It he really sounds a lot like Ray Cappo too.
Previously I really liked all the melody that Heartfelt threw into the mix. I remember me asking for some cool guitar solo’s for this record, that hasn’t happened however. I actually think that there is less melody on Take It Or Leave It that on The Plague Of Today. Maybe this is caused by the length of this new release, but the result is that there are also some more raw old school anthems on it. This means that where the band first got compared to The Nerve Agents and Good Riddance, now we can add Better Than A Thousand and In My Eyes to this list.
This mix between the melodic style of punk hardcore and old-school hardcore makes Take It Or Leave It pretty diverse. After all those spins, it still hasn’t managed to bore me even a second. From A New Level to Tinkerbell this release rocks, spews energy, and contains awesome lyrics (Stay out of the Water is great). I think everyone should give this band a change to prove themselves. If you liked their previous efforts, punk rock or hardcore in general, you should buy Take It Or leave It!
