This is what David from Asice had to say about the new Heartfelt record:
Wow, Heartfelt just keeps getting better with every release! “Take It Or Leave It” is the third addition to their discography and their second release on Shield Recordings.
The foursome is still mad at the world and knows how to translate this into catchy hardcore songs with an obvious punk rock vibe even better this time.
The biggest changes in regard to the previous releases are in my opinion the highly improved vocals of singer Arold and the complete sound that Heartfelt shows on this disc. Arold has always been a fierce singer, but this time it seems like he finally uses his voice as an extra instrument to enhance the overall picture. More integrated into the whole, so to speak.
This adds up to the other change: the thick sound that is made by the band as a whole. Years of playing together apparently pays off for Heartfelt, because the band sounds like a well oiled machine.
“Too Old” is a nice fast song about the fact that many people leave hardcore behind them when they get older. Heartfelt however proves that hardcore bands can also get better with age if they persist. I wish the band many more years since their quality level is still going up.
