'What we built through time'
Today when I got in my car to go to work I put on Count Me Outs' 110 record.
The next 20 minutes I once again realised how great this band was. The Chain of Strength sound only a bit heavier, it still rings true within me. The lyrics are great but what really tops it are the melodies. Where everyone was adoring American Nightmare and Panic I always felt this band didn't quite receive the admiration they deserved. Especially not if you compare it with the over-hype of Right Brigade. Many people also thought the band was copying the American Nightmare sound too much on 'Permanent'. Though that one is a bit darker it still is a logical follow up to the other records.
Therefore I appreciate Count Me Out.

I just pulled out their Permenant and 110 CD's a couple of weeks ago. I had forgotten how great this band was. I remember seeing them at a Back To School Jam, which was an all day hardcore/punk fest that the singer for Reach the Sky used to put on in Boston each year. I didn't think they were particularly strong for that live perfomance (could be from the weak crowd reaction), but damn, those CD's really held up over time.
"There's certain things that even time can't change." These lyrics were my Straight Edge anthem for a while...
