9/11 Five Years After
I remember going to NYC two months after the attack on the World Trade Center. New York was a weird place to be at the time. There were painted walls everywhere dedicated to the victims and rescuers of the attacks. Ground Zero was still a big ruin. People were standing in line to get a short glimpse of the sight. Cars and cabs had starspangled banners everywhere and there was an erie feeling in the city.
I went back this year for my honeymoon and the city was changed. 9/11 seemed to be forgotten pretty much. Instead of the starspangled banners New Yorkers were New Yorkers again. People had taken up life once again, mostly doing what they did before the attacks. Even Spider-Man is back in his web chasing Dr. Octupus.
