I have to go back to the recording studio this wednesday to do vocals for ten more songs. Some songs are pretty old and the lyrics to those are all solid, still three songs are so fresh I never had any proper lyrics to them. Fortunately I do now. This is one of them, a tiny part was already published earlier on this blog. The song is entitled 'stay out of the water'. With this song I wanted to write a lyric that is definately about something without giving it all away to clearly. I hope the message I want to tell does come across.
Stay out of the water
When the bitter tears taste as good as pouring salt in blistering wounds
You say you've tried and never fail, all I see is an empty shell
Won't swallow this down my throat
I can't accept what I've been told
Won't absorb this in my mind
I can't scream when all my breath is gone
Failure surrounds you everywhere, the ship is sinking but you don't care
Lying on the coastline crushing dreams, salt water pours in open veins
Put your vest on it's sink or swim, you're not moving not even an inch
Won't swallow this down my throat
I can't accept what I've been told
Won't absorb this in my mind
I can't scream when all my breath is gone
Salt water bites in open veins
When it's just sink or swim!
You say that you've tried but that's not good enough
I wanna see results not some showing off
You're just an empty shell all glory outside
The inside, that counts, is just filled up with salt
