From the author of Mother Brooklyn and The Fortress of Solitude, Men and Cartoons is a collection of short stories. Some stories are realistic others are more fantasy or sci-fi related. There's one thing the stories all have in common and that is that the characters actually develop within the few pages every story contains.
Most of the time short stories aren't fascinating because they are so short of they leave you wanting way more. The stories in this book do leave you wanting more but in another way, you want more because they are well written not because the writer has left the reader with many unsolved questions.
